Core values

New Makers Bureau is an award-winning RIBA Chartered architecture practice making environmentally and socially conscious buildings.

We work with cultural organisations, forward-thinking developers and communities to re-imagine the built environment with care and inventiveness. Our projects begin by looking closely — at what’s already there, what can be recovered, and what can be made anew. From re-working existing structures to building with reclaimed and natural materials, we design with sensitivity to the inherent value of buildings and resources, creating places that are enduring, joyful and low-carbon.

Above all we are:

Resourceful

We care about materials, where they come from and how they are used. This makes our projects unique and special. We make the most of what already exists - reusing, adapting and uncovering hidden potential.

Collaborators

Our projects are shaped through partnerships — with clients, communities, and consultants. They grow through conversation, sketching, questioning, and shared discovery — tailored to brief, site, and ambition.

Low carbon specialists

We’re specialists in creating low embodied carbon buildings. Over years of practice, we’ve developed the strategies, systems, and knowledge to reduce impact and deliver on our environmental goals.

Across scales — from cultural buildings to inventive housing — we create architecture that connects people, place, and planet, re-imagining what already exists.
